Young Highlanders (Developmental)

Developmental program for boys in elementary to middle school that are new to the game of lacrosse.  Coach Mark Williams will be assisted by a few of the Woodlands HS lacrosse players in teaching basic lax skills.  The program is designed to give our young athletes a solid fundamental skill base and game IQ.  All new players are recommended to participate in at least one year of Young Highlanders before trying out for a competitive team.

1st – 2nd graders will participate in 90 mins of drills one day a week (Wednesdays) to learn the basic stick skills, ie. ground balls, throwing & catching, & shooting, etc...

3rd – 6th graders will meet two days a week on Wednesday & Friday evenings.  One day will be dedicated to learning the basic stick skills (ground balls, throwing & catching, & ground balls).  In week three, the boys will be divided into teams.  Coach Williams will organize scrimmages to be played at the SCFL field – Friday Night Lights!  There will be no “official” games.
